The RadCast Roentgen Competition 2023
All Seats Now Taken For 2023
If you're a medical student or a non-radiology junior doctor, then you're eligible to take part in this competition. If you have had formal radiology training abroad, you are not eligible. Also, candidates who have passed any of the FRCR examinations are not eligible (those in the UK and abroad). Finally, those candidates about to start ST1 radiology training are not eligible for the competition.
The fee is to help cover the costs associated with the technical software required to run the competition alongside the costs associated with invigilating the exam (proctoring).
Nope! There is no negative marking.
Nope, not at all! This competition is purely extra-curricular so we have no intention to share your marks with your medical/foundation school.
You can only enter the competition once per year, but candidates can enter in multiple different years provided they remain eligible.
To take part in the competition, you must access the exam on a computer (Windows or Mac). Candidates will not be able to undertake the exam on a mobile phone or tablet device. This is essential for us to effectively invigilate (proctor) the exam. You must also have a working microphone and webcam. On the day of the assessment, you will join the exam using the link we provide and undertake the exam on our proctoring software.
Yes of course! Just register on the platform and you can access some sample questions for free which will be posted at a later date :)

Yes! In our first run of the Roentgen competition in 2022, we had over 100 candidates participate in the exam with candidates across the world. We even had candidates from as far as Malaysia participating!
